Sophie Elton & London Deshields – Heather Wyatt Calls for Action Against Bullying Following Tragic Deaths of Two Girls

Published by

The mother of bullied teen Aubreigh Wyatt who was driven to suicide, Heather Wyatt has called for more to be done to protect children following the similar deaths of Sophie Elton and London Deshields.

Sophie Kay Elton, 12, a student of Chandler Jr. High school in Oklahoma, took her own life on August 30th, reportedly as a result of bullying.

Elton’s death was followed by the death of London Deshields of New Jersey who died in recent days.

Heather Wyatt, who has been campaigning hard against bullying of kids that leads to mental torment and self-harm, took to TikTok to raise awareness about the passing of these two young ladies and call for protections to be instituted for young students to save them from the fate of her daughter, London Deshields and Sophie Elton.

Her video started a movement of people making similar points and calling for action.

A post on the topic went viral on Facebook: “Sophie Elton (12/13) London Deshields (15) Two more kids who took their own lives because they were bullied. I’ve been following Aubrey Wyatts case for the longest, her best friend is being bullied by the same school that failed Aubrey Wyatts. Put her in alternative school for a video off a fake account. But Aubrey’s bullies were never disciplined. We’re losing too many babies by their own hand because other kids bully them to the point they feel like that’s the only way out.”

A conversation has now been started about instituting protection against bullying for children in schools across the country.

Many people brought up names of other children who took similar action like these girls but did not receive as much attention, indicating the problem is a bit more widespread than people realize.

Sophie Elton was born October 27th, 2011 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She attended Chandler Jr. High School where she played softball and was a cheerleader.

She’d been described as the life of the party and someone who was ‘wise beyond her years’. Her obituary described her as outgoing and carefree.

London Deshields was a Lenape High School student and a top class athlete in her own right, competing in track and gymanstics. The high school sophomore ran the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m, helping her school to impressive performances in track meets.
