Reflect On The Wisdom In Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Obi nya way3’ – Otumfuo Encourages Ghanaians

Ghanaian highlife musician Kofi Kinaata received a special mention from Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during his address at the General Conference of the Ghana Bar Association. The Asantehene referenced the lyrics “Obi nya way3” from Kinaata’s hit song “Susuka” to emphasize the need for Ghanaians to appreciate the country, despite its challenges.

He highlighted that many nations aspire to be like Ghana, urging the public to reflect on the wisdom found in the lyrics of Kinaata’s song. The Asantehene praised the insightful messages in the works of musicians like Kinaata, stating, “Sometimes, listen to the wisdom of our musicians and reflect on a piece like Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Obi nya way3,’ meaning ‘Someone wishes they were like you.’

His remarks were warmly received, drawing applause from the audience.
