O’Reilly SHS Student Remanded For Two Weeks Following Fatal Stabbing Of Classmate

The La District Court has remanded the final-year student from O’Reilly Senior High for two weeks following the fatal stabbing of his classmate, Edward Borketey Sackey.

The suspect, who has not been named, is facing a provisional charge of murder. The court denied his plea and set his next court appearance for September 19, 2024, allowing authorities time to conduct further investigations.

The incident, which reportedly stemmed from a disagreement about whose parents were wealthier, escalated into a physical altercation. Sackey sustained severe injuries from the attack and, despite being rushed to the LEKMA Hospital, he succumbed to his wounds. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
