Ghanaian hairstylist Chelsea-Abigail Owusu Ansah has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the most heads of hair locked in under eight hours. Specializing in dreadlocks, Chelsea-Abigail successfully locked 27 heads in seven hours, 51 minutes, and six seconds, securing the prestigious title, a feat that has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records.

As the founder of Yoga Locks, Chelsea-Abigail accomplished this milestone during a lock-a-thon held on March 6, 2024. Her achievement has brought significant recognition to Ghana’s beauty industry.

In a social media post, she shared her pride and excitement: “I am proud and honored to announce that I have officially set a new Guinness World Record for the most heads of hair locked in 8 hours. Thank you all for the support, and I hope to inspire others to chase their dreams and strive for greatness.”

With over six years of experience in the hair-locking profession, Chelsea-Abigail explained that her motivation for breaking the record stemmed from a desire to challenge the negative perceptions surrounding dreadlocks and encourage wider acceptance of the hairstyle. Her accomplishment is expected to inspire many in the beauty industry and beyond to pursue their passions and achieve greatness.
