Dr Eric Eiselman, Married Fort Myers Optometrist With Two Kids Killed in Golf Cart Accident

Dr Eric Eiselman, an optometrist popular in Fort Myers has been killed following a tragic accident on Winkler Road that has left his family, particularly his wife Tara and kids, completely devastated.

Eiselman’s death occurred following a tragic turn of events that led to a golf cart he was driving crashing with a propane tanker in Fort Myers around 10:41 AM on Saturday, September 7th.

The crash left Eiselman with fatal injuries and led to him being pronounced dead on the scene. A passenger in the golf cart and the driver of the propane tanker sustained minor injuries.

Dr Eric Eiselman was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale. He received a Dual Bachelor of Science in Biology and Optometry from the Nova Southeastern University and studied for a Doctor of Optometry at the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. He had his Clinical Externship at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta and Aker-Kasten Cataract and Laser Institute, Boca Raton. He worked with the Eye Centers of Florida at the time of his passing.

Eric Eiselman married his wife Tara on March 13th 2021 at the Heitman house in Southwest Florida. The couple have two kids.

Tara mourned her late husband following news of his death by sharing several photos, some showing her and him on their wedding day.

She later shared a collage of the entire family including herself and their two kids alongside her husband.

Others shared tributes for Dr Eiselman remembering him for being not just a great doctor but a wonderful person.

“Tonight I salute a great man. A friend. A fantastic father. A wonderful husband. Cheers my friend. May you be forever remembered In our hearts.” one tribute shared on social media read.
