Troubling Facebook Posts of Colt Gray’s Aunt, Annie Polhamus Brown, Sparks Reactions

Published by

A series of now deleted Facebook posts from Annie Polhamus Brown, a relative of Colt Gray, who shot up Apalachee High School, in Winder, Georgia, has sparked massive reactions on social media.

Brown in numerous posts appeared to hint that she is ready to defend her nephew Colt, who shot and killed four people and wounded nine more in the shootings that shocked the city of Winder.

Her defiant comments were blasted as arrogant, entitled, and tone-deaf, coming as they did at a time that families were mourning the loss of their children.

Annie Polhamous Brown in one post had written: “They are charging my 14yo nephew as an adult, for murder. Yall ready to see Polhamous blood in full throttle? Nah, I wouldn’t be either,”

In another post, Brown threatened to rain fire and brimstone on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation or anyone chatting sh*t about her nephew, vowing that she is not scared and will not back down.

She added: “I will not disrespect other parents and families that are dealing with this tragedy on the opposite end…I will not do anything but humbly support the families involved in this incident….what that said, I will not leave my nephew standing alone!!! I will take care of my nephew and what he needs on this side – just check yourself before you speak about a child that never asked to deal with the b*llsh*t he saw on a daily basis!!!”

Her comments rubbed a lot of people the wrong way especially considering numerous families are grieving at this very time.

“Classy family. The last person that made threats of violence, followed through. Maybe FBI needs to step up and handle this better this time. Auntie needs a visit,” one comment read.

Others said they could see where Colt got his rage from.

Anita Puholme Brown did not spend all her Facebook rage defending her nephew, she also exposed her sister, Marcee Gray, the mother of Cole, as a drug addict whose addiction had destroyed her family.

Colt Gray on Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, shot up the Apalachee High School. Four people – two teachers and two students identified as Richard Aspinwall (teacher), Mason Schermerhorn (Student), Christian Angulo (student), and Christina Irimie (teacher) ended up being killed.

Gray has been arrested and will be tried as an adult. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has charged him with four counts of felony murder.

During a press conference, it was revealed he used a semi-automatic AR-15-style rifle.

Incredibly, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center had alerted local law enforcement in May 2023 after they received anonymous tips about a student threatening to shoot up a school.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies interviewed Cole and his father, Colin. Cole denied making the threats and Deputies said there wasn’t enough probable cause to effect an arrest.
