Yeriel Rodriguez, Tomball Memorial High School Football Star Dies

Yeriel Rodriguez, an athlete who starred for the Tomball Memorial High School football Wildcats, has died.

Rodriguez’s death was announced in several social media posts all of which celebrated who he was as a person and an athlete.

The cause of death for the class of 2024 Tomball graduate was not available.

Popularly known as Yeti, a memorial was organized the night of Sunday, September 1st, 2024 at the Tomball Memorial High School football field. Numerous posters on social media remembered Yeti for his competitive spirit and zeal for life.

Yeriel Rodriguez starred for the Tomball Wildcats throughout high school. Playing as an inside receiver/running back, he accumulated 400 all purpose yards for 7 touchdowns in 4 games before injury curtailed his senior year. Rodriguez received numerous college offers to further his academic and athletic development.

Heartbroken friends took to social media to mourn the passing of the young and rising star.

Prayers to the Rodriguez Family and to all who loved Yeriel Rodriguez. Way too young. I don’t even have words. 😢 Yeti made me smile and laugh every time I saw him,” one tribute read.

Another said: “RIP Yeti….way too early kid, your life was just beginning,”
