Pastor Enoch Boamah Hits Back At Critics After Drogba’s Healing Testimony – ‘I Am Not Looking For Clout'”

Pastor Enoch Ofori Boamah, the leader of the Christ Embassy Airport City Youth Church (CECY), recently addressed the backlash he received following claims that he had ‘healed’ John Peasah, a popular Ghanaian actor known as Drogba from the TV series YOLO.

John Peasah shared his testimony during the Friday Night Miracle Service held in Accra on August 30, 2024. In a video that quickly went viral, Peasah revealed that his health had improved after Pastor Enoch Boamah prayed for him. The actor has been struggling with a demyelinating disease for several years.

During a Sunday service, Pastor Enoch responded to the criticisms, clarifying that Peasah was not coerced into sharing his testimony. He emphasized that the actor willingly spoke about feeling better after the prayer. “The person (John Peasah) said he feels better. We did not ask him. Was I the one who put those words in his mouth? His testimony is bigger than this. He will share it later,” Pastor Enoch stated.

Pastor Enoch also clarified that the video of Peasah’s testimony was not shared for publicity purposes.  “The Holy Spirit bears me witness that when we closed the Friday Miracle Night event, I told the media team not to post the testimony. I am not looking for clout,” he said.

Addressing the criticism, Pastor Enoch expressed that he was unfazed by it, comparing the situation to the persecution faced by early Christians. “If you follow my teachings on the sight of God, you will know that God doesn’t count the way men count. If you are persecuted in a large way, it is proof that God has actually elevated you. Jesus said the world hates you because they hate me. Compared to the persecution in the Bible, this is nothing.”
