Ghanaian Actor Akwasi Boadi, widely known as Akrobeto, has shared why he avoids taking photos with fans and people he meets on the streets.
During an interview with Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Akrobeto explained that his choice is driven by past experiences in which his photos were misused for criminal activities.
He recounted a troubling incident: “A man used a photo of himself with me to deceive a 16-year-old girl. He showed her the picture in a car, convincing her with lies that led to her sleeping with him. After she became pregnant, the man vanished. The girl’s mother later approached me, showing the picture and asking if I knew him, but I had no memory of ever meeting the man.”
Akrobeto also mentioned other instances where his image was exploited for wrongdoing. Because of these experiences, he has firmly decided not to take pictures with fans or anyone he encounters, regardless of what others might think or say.
