Dharshini Vasudevan, an Indian student studying in the United States of America was killed following a fiery car accident in Anna while en route to Bentonville, Texas.
Vasudevan, a Master’s degree graduate in Information Science/Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington, reportedly left home the evening of Friday, August 29th with three other Indian nationals for a trip to visit her uncle at Bentonville.
During the trip, she was staying in touch with her parents but somewhere along the way, they lost touch with her.

It later emerged that the four Indians, who had congregated through a carpooling app for the trip to Bentonville, had died following a fiery crash in Anna.
A speeding truck reportedly rear-ended their SUV leading it to ignite in flames. All four victims were burned beyond recognition in the crash and died.
Aside from Dharshini Vasudevan, the other victims have been identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Dharshini Vasudevan. Orampati and his friend Shaik were returning from a visit to Orampati’s cousin in Dallas while Palacharla was on his way to Bentonville to reunite with his wife. Vasudevan, as earlier noted, was on her way to visit her uncle in Bentonville.
Days before news of her death in the accident was revealed, Vasudevan’s father took to social media to petition Indian government officials to look into the matter and help find her daughter. It is feared that a traffic collision might have led to the of occupants of her vehicle sustaining injuries or worse.
Dharshini Vasudevan is a software engineer and podcast host, according to her LinkedIn bio. She came to the United States from India in 2022 for her Master’s degree and worked for a bit as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during her studies. She currently works for the San Franciso Bay Area-based software company Eximietas Design and hosts her own podcast titled What’s Next? With Dharshini, where she discusses the ins and outs of life for international students in the United States and shares her experiences to help out others.
