Musician Mzbel recently participated in a Ga ancestral cleansing ritual as part of the Homowo festival, celebrated by the people of the Greater Accra Region.
Embracing her cultural heritage, Mzbel joined a group of women by a river for this traditional ceremony, an essential element of the annual celebration. Dressed in traditional white attire and adorned with spiritual leaves, she engaged in the cleansing ritual at the riverbank.
Mzbel, who often speaks about her strong ties to her heritage, described this ritual as a deeply significant event for her. She considers ancestral cleansing her favorite part of the year, seeing it as a chance to reconnect with her ancestors and nature.
