Ghanaian actress and TV personality Nana Ama McBrown recently talked about how she protects herself spiritually, focusing on her strong faith in God.
In an interview with Bola Ray on Star Chat on August 22, 2024, McBrown said that even though friends often suggest she seek spiritual protection ‘juju’ because of her success, she only relies on God.
“Friends have told me, ‘Nana, with how successful you are, people might envy you and try to harm you. Let’s find some protection.’ But I always say no. Throughout my career, I’ve never gone to a pastor or a juju man for protection. I go to Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), but I haven’t been to church in the past year. I won’t lie about that, but I do pray at home,” McBrown said.
She also mentioned that she has faced some challenges on set but doesn’t think it’s because of juju. “I’ve had some attacks while working, but I don’t blame juju. Juju is everywhere. If it really had power, I believe I’d be dead by now because I know many people envy me. But God’s power and my good heart keep me safe. I pray every day, asking God to protect me from those who wish me harm, knowing that others depend on me. I’m not saying juju can’t hurt me, but I refuse to believe that anyone could use it against me and get away with it.”
McBrown also made it clear that she has no connections with juju men, pastors, or spiritualists, whether in Ghana or abroad. “It’s my faith and prayers that keep me going,” she stated.
