Death of Quilter Sarah Bond Rocks Quilting World

Beloved artist, teacher and quilter, Sarah Bond’s reported death has left the quilting world in mourning.

Bond was reported dead on Thursday, August 22nd, by many sources across the quilting world after losing her fight against metastatic breast cancer.

She was mourned for her grace, class and ability to connect with all she met.

Sarah Bond is a famous name across the quilting world, known for her classic and traditional quilt designs that she infuses with modern and contemporary flair to create her unique inspirational designs.

According to her bio she comes from a family of quilters and has been quilting since her early twenties. As an award winning quilter, Sarah made a name as a talented teacher who brought many people into the world of quilting by teaching and mentoring them.

The Quilting world was thus shocked to hear news of Sarah’s passing with many people jumping on social media to pay homage to her.

Quilter Robin Ruth wrote of Sarah: “I always appreciated her candor, honesty, and wry sense of humor. She was so gracious, kind, and so super talented at quilt design and composition. Her quilts are mesmerizing to me and I have always been fascinated to see how she would take a traditional block or design and turn it on its ear – in a wonderful way!”

Many other quilters who met her in different settings all attested to her kind, friendly and helpful nature. Her death is a big blow to the quilting world and her legacy will be felt for generations.
