Katy Arbuthnot, Beloved Oakville Middle School Teacher Reported Dead

Katy Arbuthnot, a beloved teacher with Oakville Middle School located in Mehlville School District, Mo, has died.

No cause of death has been revealed but some reports indicate she passed away following a tragic accident.

Arbuthnot taught Math and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) at Oakville Middle School, a position she’d held since 2006. In all, she was a teacher for eighteen years with her entire career in the Mehlville School District.

Oakville Middle School Principal Mike Salsman sent a letter to parents late Monday, August 19th, announcing the passing of Katy Arbuthnot.

Teachers spoke with children about the tragedy on Tuesday and counselors were made available for those who need them.

According to her bio, Arbuthnot was educated at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School before attending Fontbonne University for her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

She then proceeded to Southeast Missouri State University for a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and further to Lindenwood University for an Educational Specialist Degree in Education Administration.

A native of Washington, MO, Katy Arbuthnot is survived by her two kids, Lily and Raegan. May she rest in peace.
