Justin Alesna, a dancer, dance instructor, performer, and teacher, among many other talents, has been reported dead.

Alesna, of Detroit, was reported dead by his sister, Jasmine, in a post shared on social media Tuesday, August 20th, 2024.

“Hello everyone. It is with a heavy heart, that I have to report my brother, Justin Alesna has been found. He is no longer with us,” Jasmine Alesna shared.

Justin was a dancer in the modern dance company/collective Suttle Dance based in Metro Detroit. He ran his own J-Dance Fitness Center and was and had also lead the Camp Talahi Junior High Dance Camp this year.

Alesna was preparing for an appearance in an upcoming production of RENT by Stagecrafters in Michigan when he tragically passed.

In a touching tribute to him, Stagecrafters, which hosts community theatre in Michigan, remembered Justin as a fountain of joy who showed love to all and could enter a room and change the vibe simply by his presence.

“Justin brought joy everywhere he went. He was a free spirit who made everyone feel loved. He would walk into a room and the energy would change, it would become much more vibrant and alive with spirit,” they said.

According to Jasmine, Justin’s Friday would come off on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Mercy Crematory.
