Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician, Esther Smith, has revealed that many pastors in Ghana lack empathy towards their church members.
According to her, these pastors often use the offerings and donations made by their congregants to enrich themselves, rather than to assist the poor and needy within the church.
Esther Smith claimed that instead of using the funds to support those in need, these pastors acquire properties and cars, leaving their members impoverished.
She contrasted this with churches abroad, which she said are more focused on helping the poor in society.
“The difference between pastors in Ghana and those abroad is that the ones in Ghana use donations and offerings from abroad to enrich themselves. They buy cars, houses, and expensive clothes, among other things. But pastors abroad are more concerned with helping the poor in society, ensuring that donations from church members go to the right causes.” She bemoaned.
Esther Smith also highlighted how churches abroad provide a proper account of how every donation is used.
