Baton Rouge Mayor Mourns Dedicated Office Manager Simon Pillette After Tragic Death

An office manager with the City of Baton Rouge mayor’s office, Simon Pillette has died.

Pillette, an administrative assistant with a long and distinguished track record, passed away following an accident.

She served as the Office Manager for the office of the Mayor-President of Baton Rouge, Sharon Weston Broome, and was the Administrative Assistant to Leslie Ricard Chambers, Esq, the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for Broome.

Pillette’s death was announced by Mayor-President Weston Broome in a statement.

In the statement, she announced the passing of Pillette who she praised for her immense talents in keeping their office running like a well-oiled machine. She revealed that aside her position as Office Manager she handled other equally important roles as well.

“With profound sadness, I share the news of the passing of Simone Pillette, a dedicated public servant and beloved member of our team. As our Office Manager, Simone was the heartbeat of our office. She was a devoted leader, handling many of our citizens’ requests and playing an integral role in the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs,”  the statement began.

Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome continued to eulogize Pillette, revealing that aside from her professional talents she was also a warm, caring and beautiful person outside work. She revealed that Pillette was God fearing and exemplified the best of Christianity.

Beyond her professional contributions, Simone was a beautiful and caring person who lit up the room with her presence and brought positive energy to everyone around her. Her love for God was evident in everything she did, guiding her interactions with grace and compassion,”

Broome called for people to honor her memory by dedicating their time to things she was intensely passionate about.

“Simone will be deeply missed, but her legacy will remain with us as we move forward,” she added.

Most comments on social media also backed up these sentiments with many praising Simon for her dedication as a public servant.

“Simone was an awesome public servant with a heart for people, and an angelic spirit!! Let heaven rejoice!” one post said.
