Two teenagers, Hasan Mohammed Hasan and Omar Shalash were killed following a car accident in Lexington, Kentucky early Saturday.
The single vehicle crash happened in the area of Tates Creek Road at Turkeyfoot drive around 1:30 a.m.
The crash killed 18-year-old Hasan Mohammad Hasan and 13-year-old Omar Shalash.
Shalash was a student of the Lexington Universal Academy, the only full time Islamic School in Lexington, and was in 8th grade.
The school announced his tragic death with a statement, extending its heartfelt condolences to his family and announcing his burial later on in the day at the Islamic Cemetery in Lexington. The school also announced emotional support has been made available for students or staff struggling with the loss.

Other students remembered Omar as a ‘sweet and funny guy’ who made everyone happy.
“Sweet, sweet baby. Thinking of him and his family,” one netizen wrote in reaction to the tragic news.
