Raelyn Schultz and Ximena Navarro – Two Iowa Girls Dead After Tragic Incidents

A 9-year-old girl from Alpha, Iowa, Raelyn Schultz, has sadly passed away after an ICU battle her family was desperately hoping she’d win.

Raelyn was on life-support in the ICU with her family hoping against hope that she will come out on top.

Numerous prayers and shows of support for Raelyn’s battle were shared on social media but despite fighting as hard as she could, she ultimately could not survive.

Following her demise, her father, Darron Schultz, took to Facebook to eulogize his little girl.

He noted how heartbroken he was to inform the world of his little girl’s demise, revealing that despite putting up a brave fight, eventually they had to let her go as she was in too much pain.

“My heart is broken and I am so sorry to inform each and every one of you that our sweet Raelyn has gained her wings and is safe and peaceful up in heaven…Raelyn put up a heck of a fight, we all know she is strong as an Ox but we couldn’t let her be in pain. We are so lost and heartbroken right now and have no idea how our life’s can go on without our sweet sassy girl. Please keep our family in your prayers through this awful and trying time,” he wrote.

Other family and friends also paid tribute to little Raelyn, noting how carefree, sweet and sassy she was and how she would be heavily missed.

A second youngster, Ximena Navarro, was in a swimming accident that ended her in the ICU as well and she also did not survive.

To support both families, a fundraiser was organized with the proceeds to be split between the two families.

Two families are facing unimaginable tragedies but the mobilizing of community in such difficult moments to help out provides some solace of comfort to them, knowing they have people looking out for them as they navigate this difficult time.
