Nana Yaa Nyarko, the primary suspect in the Wyllbee murder case, has been granted bail by the Adum High Court.
This decision comes after unsuccessful attempts to secure bail from the Akropong Circuit Court. The Adum High Court set her bail at GH₵100,000 with sureties. Additionally, a second accused in the case was granted bail under the same terms.
The court delivered the bail ruling in Nana Yaa’s absence due to concerns about her safety, as a large and potentially hostile crowd had gathered outside the courthouse.
A representative of Wyllbee’s family commented on the proceedings, stating, “The family is disturbed, but there’s nothing we can do because the law has taken its course. When a person is granted bail, it doesn’t mean they are free.
” Nana Yaa Nyarko is however scheduled to appear before the Akropong Circuit Court for trial on August 27, 2024.
