The University of Ghana Students Representative Counsel (UGSRC) Electoral Commission has disqualified Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Maradona Yeboah Agyei, popularly known as Guru, from compting in the 2024 UGSRC Presidential elections.
The commission stated, “Guru is a non-resident and therefore cannot run for the office of SRC President”.
This was a big blow to the musician especially since he spent a lot trying to convince the students to vote for him.
Sometime in May this year, Guru announced his intentions to contest in the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council elections.
“Dear Legonites, I’m thrilled to have you back in school. Let’s kick off this semester with positivity and enthusiasm! MARADONA YEBOAH ADJEI (GURU -NKZ) UGSRC PRESIDENT HOPEFUL’24. #Building the SRC with Everyone for everyone #Let’s all get involved(sic),” he posted on Facebook.
Well, unfortunately for the musician, he won’t be able to realize his dreams of becoming the next SRC President of UG.
