John Pappas, 53, of Uniontown, Ohio, was the father of popular YouTuber and Tiktoker, Steph Pappas.
Steph is a popular influencer with millions of followers across all social channels. She often creates content with her dad, John, who also has his own popular YouTube channel.
A few years ago, in September 2022, Steph took to social media to mourn the tragic death of her father.
She said a great loss had occurred in her life that deeply affected her.
John Pappas and his wife, Steph’s mom Kristine, were in a Toyota driven by John and sauntering down Strausser Street NW around 11 p.m. the night of September 11 when tragedy struck.
Jacob Muiter, 27, was driving a Chevy Silverado under the influence of alcohol at the time and overspeeding on the same road.
After losing his bearings and veering off the center line, he broadsided the Toyota being driven by John.
The damage mostly occurred to the driver’s side door and John was subsequently declared dead at the scene. His dog Cookie, who was in the car also died, according to a later post by Steph Pappas.
Meanwhile, Kristine Pappas who was in the passenger side seat was transported to hospital where she received treatment and eventually, was discharged.

A heartbroken Steph in the days that followed her father’s death shared numerous posts revealing how heartbroken she was at her father’s death.
“Rest in peace to the best father and best friend a daughter could ask for,” she said in one of her posts, adding: “…and rest in peace Cookie, you’re together with your buddy,”
Steph in other posts cried out for her father, wishing he was never dead. “I want my dad back“, she wrote in another heartwrenching post.
She also shared a photo from her childhood, adding how much she missed her dad.
What happened to drunk driver Jacob Muiter who caused John Pappas Accident?
Jacob Muiter, 27, was arrested following the crash and was indicted in November 2022 on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, OVI, reckless operation, speeding and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.
A few months later, in April 2023, he received his sentence of 10 to 13.5 years in prison.
Steph has continued on to bigger and better things in the absence of her dad but there is no doubt she deeply misses him and his loss profoundly changed her forever.
