Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, popularly known as Drogba from the TV show “YOLO,” has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $280,000 for important medical treatment overseas.
Drogba was diagnosed with a condition called demyelination in March 2024. This condition affects the nervous system, which can cause problems with vision, coordination, and sensation.
Unfortunately, his condition has gotten worse, and he now has issues like sleep apnea, which means he needs an oxygen mask to help him breathe. He also shared that the cost of his ongoing treatment has severely depleted his resources, making it necessary to seek additional financial support for further treatment outside Ghana.
“I want to thank my family and friends(especially you guys), as well as the Vice President of Ghana, for the numerous donations and gifts I’ve received. Unfortunately, I’m not responding to treatment and have been spending almost all my resources, which are now almost depleted.
This fundraising effort is necessary to support my expensive treatment abroad, which includes specialized care from experts in pain medicine, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, biofeedback, and nursing at the Pain Rehabilitation Center. Specifically, I need help covering the cost of admission, medical treatment, IVIG therapy (which is particularly expensive), or plasma exchange” he wrote on Instagram.
