Popular Ghanaian comedian OB Amponsah has recently opened up about what he believes is destroying the country’s entertainment industry, particularly the film sector on UTV’s United Showbiz program.
According to him, one of the biggest issues is the “wickedness” within the industry, where certain roles are always reserved for one or two specific actors. OB pointed out that if this actor isn’t available, it’s as if no one else is fit to take on the role, which limits opportunities for other talents.
The selfish mindset of wanting to “have it all” is what’s bringing the industry down. He urged those in the industry to come together, discover new talents, and think strategically to build a sustainable future. Otherwise, any progress made will likely collapse in the long run.
