Boater Wes Logan ‘Lucky to be Alive’ After Scary Lake Champlain Accident

Wes Logan, a boater from Springville, Alabama, has spoken up about how lucky he is to be alive following a scary accident on Lake Champlain.

Logan was competing for of Ark Fishing International on Day two the Champlain Elite when he got into some trouble.

He reportedly hit a submerged obstruction that detached his motor from his boat and resulted in a spin out. This led to him hitting his head and almost getting thrown out of his boat.

His wife, Riley Logan, revealed the stunning news on social media following the initial collision.

According to her, Wes was in a bad boating accident and suffered a head injury and lacerations. She added that he had been taken to a local hospital in an ambulance after initially being stranded out on the water for over an hour.

In an updated post, Riley shared more details on the crash.

Wes hit a bad wave (maybe even something in that water that was unable to be seen) while driving down the lake. The impact was so great that his motor detached from his boat which resulted in a spinout. During these 360 turns, he hit his head and was almost thrown out of the boat. He luckily stayed conscious enough to call me to alert for help,” she wrote.

Most amazingly of all, after receiving the medical help he needed, including 14 stitches, Wes was cleared and he got back out there to re-join the competition.

Speaking after the accident, he emphasized on how lucky he is to be alive and said he feels extremely blessed.

Wes called on everyone to enjoy every waking moment because it could literally be your last.
