Dennis Troper is infamous the world over as the husband and partner of late YouTube CEO, Susan Wojcicki.
Wojcicki and Troper first met during their time together as students at the University of California, Santa Cruz. They knew each other and were friends throughout their time studying together and later started dating.
After years as an item, they got married on August 23, 1998, which is right around the time Wojcicki started her legendary career at Google.
Their twenty six old year marriage produced five children. In May, a few months before Wojcicki’s fateful death, the couple lost one son, Marco Wojcicki Troper, at only 19-years-old from an accidental overdose.

Dennis Troper received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1991.
He quickly moved on to the University of California, Santa Cruz where he received his Master’s Degree in Applied Economics, graduating in 1993.

His career kicked off with consultancy roles at Deloitte and Concur, before moving on to become Senior Product Manager at Oracle from 2001 – 2003.
Like his wife, Troper eventually ended up working at Google. Susan Wojcicki famously joined Google in 1998 and was instrumental in the establishment of the Google AdSense product.
By 2003, Troper was working as Group Product Manager for Google Ads, a role he held for six years until 09.
He has since held multiple roles at Google including Director of Product Management – Google Workspace, Director of Product Management – Google My Business/ Google +, and more recently, Director of Product Management – Trust, Privacy and User Data.
Troper is Jewish. In the Bay Area where their family resides, he has served on the boards of Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School and the Anti-Defamation League.

Susan Wojcicki’s death
Susan Wojcicki, the former CEO of YouTube, was reported dead by her husband in a social media post.
According to Troper, his wife died Friday, August 9th after a two year battle with non-small cell lung cancer. She was 56.
“It is with profound sadness that I share the news of Susan Wojcicki passing. My beloved wife of 26 years and mother to our five children left us today after 2 years of living with non-small cell lung cancer,” Troper said in his Facebook post.
“Susan was not just my best friend and partner in life, but a brilliant mind, a loving mother, and a dear friend to many,” he continued.
Troper concluded: “Her impact on our family and the world was immeasurable. We are heartbroken, but grateful for the time we had with her,”
Susan Wojcicki was one of the earliest employees at Google, having joined the company in its early fledgling days.
As she said in a post on social media when she announced her retirement, she was in on the ground floor of the company that will become the Google empire.
“Twenty-five years ago I made the decision to join a couple of Stanford graduate students who were building a new search engine. Their names were Larry and Sergey …. It would be one of the best decisions of my life,” she wrote.
Susan was not just an early employee, she would go on to play a substantial role in the success of the world’s largest search engine. She helped create Google AdSense, and served as Chief Executive Officer of YouTube from February 2014 until February 2023, when she resigned due to health and other reasons.
Wojcicki was a massive influence on the world and in 2014, was named by Verge as one of the 50 most influential people in the world. She had a lot more accolades and accomplishments, all of which would fill pages and pages of webspace.
Her impact would surely be felt for centuries to come. May she rest in peace.
