Two Oregon men, Donnie Long and David Garvin are being mourned by their friends and family following their tragic deaths in a plane crash.

Donnie Long, of Forest Grove, Oregon and David Garvin, of Springfield, were killed in a plane crash in Montana on Thursday, August 8th.

Posts from family and friends on social media revealed the tragic news.

The two men, both married with kids, were friends who were travelling together when the worst happened.

Donnie Long, who was a roofing contractor, was remembered in one post as a wonderful husband, father, and more.

“I’m at a loss for words and my heart breaks for his entire family. Family and friends mean everything; never take a moment for granted, as tomorrow is never promised. Donnie Long, you were a wonderful husband, brother, son, father, and friend. You will be deeply missed by so many,” the tribute read.

Another post asked for prayers for their spouses, Kimberly Long and Alanna Villalobos.

The duo appears to have died in a plane crash in Montana Thursday that made the news with authorities yet to formally identify the victims.

Posts on Long’s Facebook page indicate he was a pilot, although its not clear if he was flying the aircraft.

A Cessna 182 took off from Pullman/Moscow Regional Airport in Washington at 10:22 on Thursday, August 8 and crashed under unknown circumstances near Augusta, Montana.

Reports indicate three people were on that plane – there is no indication as at now who the third person was.

According to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton, the plane fell to the ground at an extreme angle and landed in rough terrain between two mountains.

The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and search and rescue all responded to the scene alongside the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s office.

An investigation into the crash in underway, lead by the NTSB.
