U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz as her Vice Presidential candidate and already the memes are flowing as old photos from a DUI in the 90s have resurfaced.
CNN reported that Kamala Harris has selected Tim Walz after a thorough vetting process to choose her running mate, which itself comes on the back of her her swift and improbably ascent to the top of the Democratic ticket.
Walz was selected ahead of Pennsylvania Governor, Josh Shapiro.
Even before the pick was made, rumors of an old DUI arrest for Tim Walz from the 90s started making its way on social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter).
X user Dustin Grage, self-styled Minnesota GOP Hype Man, shared a photo from the DUI arrest.

“Since Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is officially being reported as a favorite to become the VP pick for Kamala Harris. Here he is pictured from his DUI arrest where he was going 96 in a 55. He then lied to police about being deaf in an attempt to avoid his arrest,” he wrote.
The post garnered reactions from other like-minded individuals however, other clapped back with reactions like: “George W had a DUI and Republicans made him president. Not to mention you’re running a convicted felon right now 😂”
Others made jokes about Minnesota and the ubiquity of DUIs in the state.
“Its Minnesota, driving drunk is normal there. Don’t question their local traditions,” read on X comment.
