A car accident on the 15 Freeway through Temecula earlier today caused a massive traffic jam and left motorists who were unlucky to be on the road at the time incredibly frustrated.
According to reports, the accident was a multi-vehicle crash that occurred around 6:18 a.m. in the early hours of Tuesday, August 6th, south of State Route 79.
Few details have been released but a pickup truck and a Toyota Camry were involved and there was at least one fatality – a person who was ejected from their vehicle. There was at least one other injury.
The accident brought the 15 freeway to a crawl and frustrated motorists, most of whom found themselves stuck in a logjam.

In a quick update on Facebook to warn others of the logjam, the Facebook page the Temecula Stew, which updates local citizens about happenings in the area, quickly warned its followers to avoid the area.
“Major accident on the 15 S. past Temecula Parkway. Freeway is at a crawl. Three lanes closed all on ramps and intersections in Temecula completely jampacked. If you’re heading south, you might want to change your plans. Don’t try to cut through old town, Temecula or any of the back way. Completely jammed,” the page wrote on their Facebook.
The accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol and more information is bound to come out soon.
