A baseball player for DeSoto Central High School, Tucker Rudd, was killed Saturday in a car accident in Olive Branch.
Rudd was killed in a traffic collision that occurred around 1:19 a.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of Terrace Stone Drive.
His death was announced by the DeSoto Central Athletics page on their Facebook page.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our student-athletes, Tucker Rudd. Please join us in praying for his family, friends, teammates, and our school in the coming days,” the post read.
Tucker Rudd was only 16 years old and played infield and catcher for the DeSoto Central baseball team. He played on the team as a junior and was looking forward to continue excelling in his senior year.
Many folks who knew Tucker and his family took to social media to mourn.
“I received the call first thing this morning to learn that Tarah’s son Tucker was killed in a car accident, and it has rocked my world. Breaks my heart for our sweet friend Tarah Rudd,” one post on Facebook read.
Meanwhile, a meal train has been started for the Rudd family to support them through this sudden and unexpected tragedy.
