A reformed drug addict, Abigail Sarpong, after spending several months in rehab has failed to maintain herself and gone back to the streets.
In a viral video, a man who helped in transforming Abigail was seen confronting her about her current state. He expressed his disappointment in her for going back to drugs and destroying her life.
Sometime last year when Abigail returned from rehab, she advised people to stay away from drugs.
According to the 30-year-old woman, addiction to drugs has curtailed the otherwise bright future of many young Ghanaians. Sharing her experience on Ewiase Mu Nsem on Nhyira Fm, she posited that “you will not have a focused life because you always want to get money to do the drugs”.
Due to her addiction, Abigail appeared older than her age, and felt restless anytime she could not access drugs. She lost everything, including her dignity, due to her addiction to hard drugs.
“It will make you a thief or a liar if you are not one,” she noted. “There is no positive future in taking cocaine and marijuana”.
The addiction, she said, leads to shame and guilt, and unnecessary cost to individuals, especially in terms of health.
Despite everything that was done for her, Abigail has fallen off the bandwagon. Hopefully she gets a permanent help for her condition this time round.
