Controversial Ghanaian gospel artiste, Brother Sammy has said in an interview on TV3 that majority of women in Ghana no longer love their. Instead, most of them are focused on money.
The Nation’s Worshipper added that the rate at which women are participating in hook up (which is an urban slang for ashawo) as a mechanism to navigate through economic adversities has gradually increased.
According to Brother Sammy, in the past, women used to love and appreciate their men and even managed the little financial help they get from them.
However, in the current era, there appears to be a shift towards valuing financial security above emotional intimacy when seeking romantic relationships.
“At first, if you wanted to propose to a lady, you could tell her ‘I love you’ and she would reply with ‘I love you too’. Now, if you tell a lady, ‘I love you’ she would reply with ‘My phone is damaged, give me money to fix it.
He added that these women automatically become “orphans” once you propose to them and as a result, they place all their financial burdens on you.
He advised his fellow men to avoid such women before they end up going broke in order to please them.
