Shauna Bofill, 39 years old is the only child of jazz legend Angela Bofill, known for hit singles I Try’ and ‘Angel of the Night’.

Angela Bofill married husband country music artist Rick Vincent in 1984 and a year later, they welcomed their daughter Shauna.

Shauna was the only child the singer had in her life.

Bofill and Vincent divorced in 1994 and she went on to marry once more.

By the time of her death, Angela Bofill was married to Chris Portuguese.

The death of Angela Bofill was reported on Thursday, June 13th 2024. She was 70.

News reports reveal she passed at her daughter’s home in California.

Her friend and manager Rich Engel announced the death on Facebook in two separate posts.

“ON BEHALF OF MY DEAR FRIEND ANGIE, I AM SADDENED TO ANNOUNCE HER PASSING ON THE MORNING OF JUNE 13TH,” Engel wrote in the first post on Bofill’s Facebook page.

In a second post, he said: “JUST TO CLEAR UP THE CONFUSION,’ he added in another post. ‘ON BEHALF OF SHAUNA BOFILL, HUSBAND CHRIS PORTUGUESE, WE ARE SADDENED BUT MUST REPORT THAT THE PASSING OF ANGELA YESTERDAY IS INDEED TRUE,”

He announced that the funeral would be held on June 28 at 1pm at St. Dominick’s Church in Valejo, California.

Her cause of death has yet to be reported.

Bofill suffered two strokes in 2006 and 2007, leaving her paralyzed on her left side and requiring speech and physical therapy.

PEOPLE reports that Bofill was the subject of false rumors about her death in 2020.
