Has there been other UNL student suicide deaths?
In May 2016, a cheerleader at UNL (the University of Nebraska – Lincoln) was reported to have jumped to her death.
Brianna Anson, of Bellevue, fell from the top of the Que Place garage.
First responders did all they could to resuscitate Anson to no avail and she was pronounced dead.
A statement from the University eulogized Anson, who was a member of Nebraska Athletics’ Spirit Squad.
The University expressed its condolences to all suffering from the loss.
“We offer our deepest condolences to her friends, family and loved ones,” a UNL spokesman said in a statement.
“Our UNL community hurts today to know we have lost one of our own. It is our sincere hope at this difficult time that everyone will take care of and support one another.”
In 2019, a similar story was reported of an apparent UNL suicide when 22-year-old Dane LeClair died after falling from the fourth floor of a parking garage.
LeClair was a master of business administration student and a Husker volleyball student manager.
Authorities later ruled the death as accidental.
