Ghanaians have slammed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over his refusal to sign into the law, the recently passed Anti-LGBT bill.
Following the passage of the bill, international partners warned Ghana that signing it into law would have economic impacts.
The finance ministry also sent a warning to the President outlining how much money Ghana will lose if the bill is signed into law.
Lo and behold, following that warning, the President has announced in a statement that he’s not signing the bill, citing an impending Supreme Court challenge of the bill’s legality.
The announcement infuriated Ghanaians who dragged the President.
“Mr. President, you simply have 1 job… just sign the bill and leave the TR*MU people should cry in court… Ghana over Tr*mu,” one netizen said.
Another said: “Fix the roads and the economy. Clean up the country. Enforce the laws and end corruption,”
