Otumfuo Is Scared of Wontumi, Nothing Will Happen to Him – Kevin Taylor Reacts to Otumfuo-Wontumi Beef

U.S based Ghanaian political commentator, Kevin Taylor, has reacted to the ongoing tiff between the NPP Chairman in the Ashanti Region, Wontumi, and the Asante monarch, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Wontumi is alleged to have claimed that he’s formed his own kingdom in the Ashanti Region and is actually more powerful than Otumfuo.

In the wake of that, a group known as Ashanti Youth has called on Manhyia to discipline Wontumi to set an example.

” the Asante Youth wants to appeal to Manhyia Palace never to allow Wontumi to enter Manhyia Palace anytime an NPP delegation pays a courtesy call on the King until he publicly renders an unqualified apology to the King and Asanteman as a whole”, spokesperson for the group Amaning Kwarteng stated at a press conference on Wednesday (17 January).

Kevin Taylor, reacting to the news, said nothing will happen to Chairman Wontumi because the Otumfuo is actually scared of Wontumi.

Taylor did not elaborate on why Asantehene would fear Wontumi but asserted it as a fact.

He said everyone should watch and see – nothing will happen to Wontumi and he would be proven vindicated.

Meanwhile, Wontumi has denied the news of his alleged comments, calling it a plot by his political enemies.

““I would like to place on the record that the story is false, malicious and calculated attempt by some elements to pitch the ruling party and my good self against the Asantehene, for reasons best known to them”, the statement said in part.
