Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s husband, sports writer Kofi Aduonum, is unsurprised that his spouse is poised to surpass the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.
He has been helping her for the last five days at Akwaaba Village and is really pleased with her development.
Indian singer Sunil Waghmare now holds the record with 105 hours of singing in 2012.
However, Afua has already surpassed that amount and wants to break the record with 115 hours.

Prominent individuals including former President John Mahama and Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia have expressed their encouragement for Afua, demonstrating the tremendous support for her. To provide their support, a number of musicians have also visited the Akwaaba Village, including Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, and Kuami Eugene.
Kofi expressed his confidence in his wife’s abilities, stating that he never doubted her capacity to achieve this feat. “I know she is a tough personality, a tough character, so I didn’t doubt a bit,” he told TV3.
