Ghana’s Black Sherif landed a massive win for the continent Tuesday night in the United States of America as he won the coveted Best International Flow award at the 2023 BET Hiphip awards.
Sherif was nominated for the honour for the first time in his career and managed to bring it home to make all Ghanaians proud.
The win marks another major milestone in the young rapper’s budding career!

Blacko thus becomes the first Ghanaian to win Best International Flow since Sarkodie’s impressive win some years back.

Black Sherif’s real name is Mohammed Ismail Serif and he hails from Konongo.
His professional name, Black Sherif, simply means ‘high born African’.

He explains that Sherif means someone noble or highborn in Islam and Black represents being African.
Blacko attended Kumasi Academy for his secondary education, completing in 2019.
He was studying marketing at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) but dropped out to concentrate on his career.
