Ghana was hit with the death of the former First Lady yesterday, October 2nd 2023. Even though she died over the weekend, the news circulated all over the media yesterday.
Before her death, Kufuor at the age of 23 married Theresa Kufuor in 1962 after they met at a Republic Day Anniversary Dance in London in 1961.
The lovely couple have five children together. Kufuor and his family belong to the Roman Catholic Church.

He is a Senior Grand Warden of the United Grand Lodge of England Freemasons, and has openly professed his membership as a Freemason since being a young lawyer.
As an Asante, Kufuor speaks the Twi language fluently. His late wife, Theresa Kufuor, died on Sunday, 1st October 2023 after a short illness. Details of her burial hasn’t been communicated yet.
Meanwhile, the whole of Ghana mourns with former President as losing a companion of 61 years.
