Elianne Andam, 15, a Ghanaian girl in the U.K. has been killed in a stabbing in Croydon by a 17-year-old wielding a zombie knife.
According to reports, Andam died after being stabbed defending a friend from a jilted suitor who unexpectedly fished out a knife.
The sad incident occurred Wednesday, September 27th 2023 in Croydon, London in the United Kingdom.
The victim Elianne Andam was a student of the Old Palace of John Whitgift school. She reportedly had Ghanaian roots with her father hailing from Northern Ghana.

According to MailOnline, the incident occurred on the number 60 bus outside the Whitgift Shopping Centre close to East Croydon station Wednesday morning.
Elianne Andam and a friend were travelling on the bus when the assailant, a 17-year-old who was Andam’s friend’s ex-boyfriend, came on board and gave her a love letter and flowers.
She reportedly turned down the overture of love and that infuriated the assailant.
After they got off the bus, he brought out a ‘sword-like’ zombie knife and that’s when Elianne Andam reportedly moved in to defend her friend.
She was stabbed in the neck and chest and died on the pavement as people around and emergency services frantically worked to try and save her.
“He gave her the flowers and she threw them away. Her friends all dispersed when she went down. After that, the boy apparently stabbed her, blood gushing out and the police put pressure on it. She died on the spot,” a witness described the carnage.
The family of Elianne Andam in Croydon released a statement following the death of the 15-year-old.
“Our hearts are broken by the senseless death of our daughter. Elianne was the light of our lives. She was bright and funny, with many friends who all adored her,” the statement began.
“She was only 15, and had her whole life ahead of her, with hopes and dreams for the future. All those dreams have now been shattered. Our lives have fallen apart, along with that of our wider family.
“We ask the media to please respect our privacy as we try to grieve the short life of our beautiful child.”
Elianne Andam was a student of the Old Palace of John Whitgift school where she was studying hard to fulfil her dream of being a lawyer – her aunt Marian told MailOnline at her mother’s Croydon residence.
“You just can’t comprehend the heartbreak of the last 24 hours, how Elianne went to school and never came home,” Marian said.
‘She wanted to be a lawyer, she went to private school paid for by my sister and had a great future ahead of her. She was a lovely girl, she loved doing her hair, had beautiful natural hair, and she really loved gymnastics.
‘We’re a big family and we are all here for our sister, to support her. This has left us absolutely devastated. My sister is not feeling good, this only happened yesterday. It hasn’t sunk in yet, it’s a tragedy.’
More than 40 bunches of flowers were laid close to where Andam was stabbed to death.
One card said: ‘Rest in peace angel condolences to your family at this very sad time.’
Another said: ‘Rest in peace little princess so sad your life is taken away at your prime. You have touched my soul.’
Police arrested the 17-year-old believed to have stabbed Elianne Andam in Croydon in a dispute on a bus.
An hour after the attack, officers arrested the 17-year-old boy five miles away on a tram in New Addington.
Detectives have recovered CCTV footage from the area and spoken to witnesses, while forensic scientists have examined the scene and a postmortem is taking place on Thursday afternoon, Sky News reports.
Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford, who is leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts and the thoughts of my team are with Elianne’s family. This is a deeply upsetting time for them and we will do everything we can to support them.”
DCI Woodsford added: “We know many people were in the area at the time and would have witnessed the attack. This would have been distressing and traumatic and I would encourage anyone who needs support to contact us and we will help to arrange this.
“I know that Elianne’s death has left many people feeling upset and I would like to thank the people of Croydon for the support they have shown us as we have carried out our inquiries in the town centre. I know this work has been disruptive, however it has been vital and your patience is appreciated.”
