Since Ghana has been added to the E-Visa list, citizens of Ghana can now apply for a South African visa online without having to visit the South African embassy in Ghana.
Ghana has been added to the list of countries for whom E-Visas are available, according to a statement made public on Thursday, September 28, 2023, by Grace Jeanet Mason, the High Commissioner of South Africa to Ghana.
According to a formal statement released by the South African High Commission on September 28, those whose passports were withheld for more than three months as a result of this modification can now pick them up at the VFS Global Office.

“The Republic of South Africa’s High Commission would like to notify you that Ghana has been added to the E-Visa list by the Government of the Republic of South Africa. This implies that Ghanaians can apply online for South African visas without physically visiting the High Commission.
The data is accessible on the Republic of South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs website. To learn more, Ghanaians are encouraged to go to the following website: www.dha.gov.za, according to the announcement.
Please take note that upon arrival at the point of entry, the standard requirements passport data, a letter of invitation or proof of lodging, and a bank statement will be checked.
It further stated that passports held by the High Commission for longer than three months might be picked up at the VFS Global Office.
