Panic As Delta Flight With Sarkodie Onboard Makes Emergency Landing In The Ocean Due To Malfunction

A Delta Airways flight from Accra to New York with Sarkodie onboard was forced to make an emergency landing on an island in the ocean after suffering a malfunction.

The flight was en route to New York but apparently suffered a malfunction leading to low oxygen levels aboard the flight.

This led to the flight crew being forced to make an emergency landing on Terceira Island in the Azores in the North Atlantic Ocean – about 4,000km away from their intended New York destination.

Sarkodie revealed this in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), revealing he had been forced to miss a Detroit show due to the issue.

He also blasted Delta Airlines for their poor service in Africa as well as poor customer service in general once they had the issue.

“So I missed my event in Detroit due to @Delta doing an emergency landing on an island in Portugal yesterday. It was unfortunate but I know these things happen so I wasn’t trippin even though they communicated poorly and didn’t have the courtesy to update us on exactly what was happening,” Sarkodie wrote.

“Sat at the airport for about 6 hours and from complains from passengers, this isn’t new with that airline especially from this part of the world ( Africa ). They keep sending these weak old flights ( business class almost same as economy ) to pick us up knowing very well they are not safe but still risk lives.

“We almost landed on the ocean but thank God we touched that island safe. No compensation nothing and our bags still on the island.

“Moving forward I wouldn’t want to tarnish a business but hopefully they see to this problem and resolve it … and to my fans in Detroit I’m very sorry and we working on making it up to you,” he added.

Meanwhile, an X user identified as Helicopter man revealed exactly what went wrong with the flight.
