Tanella Alleyne, cousin of superstar singer Rihanna has tragically died at the young age of 28 just weeks after she welcomed her second child.
Alleyne’s death was reported by local Barbadian media, which revealed that a memorial service was held in her honour this past Monday.

Tanella Alleyne, a cousin of music superstar Rihanna has died back in Barbados. She was 28.
Tanella died after doctors apparently spotted a tumour in her brain during a CT scan.
Rihanna’s cousin’s tragic death comes on the heels of several tragedies she suffered in her own life.
She lost her twin sister when she was just 14 and her brother was shot dead on Boxing Day six years ago.
Julie-Ann Bryan, Tanella’s adopted mother said during her memorial; “Tanella lived a life of gratitude with an outrageous amount of attitude, sprinkled heavily with confidence.
“There was something special about Nella…she was bold and courageous. Our love for each other was lit.”

Tanella Alleyne attended St Paul’s Primary in Barbados and then went on to the Garrison Secondary School.
In her 28 years on this planet, Tanella reportedly “camped in St Vincent, vacationed in Trinidad, travelled to South Africa, loved London, visited France, debuted in a music video in Canada, shopped, shopped, shopped in the USA.”
Rihanna has yet to respond to the sad news of her cousin’s death. The RnB superstar welcomed her second child, a baby boy, on August 3rd.
The two were reportedly close, and Tanella on Rihanna’s birthday in 2017 outlined their relationship since childhood.
“I still remember the days when you use to take forever to plait my hair for school or even tricking me into thinking that you had powers to unlock a car door with your eyes now I’m older and MUCH WISER I know that it was you playing with the buttons,”
She added: “I love you sooo much words can’t explain for never leaving me out and always making sure I have a piece of the cake. God has blessed you tremendously over the years I pray he keeps you sane, busy, focused and in good health always. May God overshadow you with favor make you invisible to this demonic world and set you free from any mindset that is not of him,”
Rihanna’s cousin, Tanella Alleyne was on Instagram @tanella_ and had just about 55k followers.
Following her death, some fans have flooded her page in disbelief.
“Cannot believe it. Refuse to,” one commenter wrote.
Another simply said: “Don’t be true sis! We was just talking a week ago!!😞😢,”
