An angry white woman has lambasted the Government of Ghana for the stress she had to go through to get a National Identification card.
In a self-recorded video, the lady revealed that she paid thousands of cedis for a residential permit, and as a result, she doesn’t see the reason why she has to pay another huge amount of money to secure a Ghana Card.
The young lady called out the responsible authorities in charge of the identity cards for extorting her.
She also added that most locals had to stand in long queues for hours before getting attended to.
A few months ago, The NIA in a statement dated June 11, 2023, signed by the acting Head of Corporate Affairs, Col. Peter Kwame Ghansah (Rtd), said these centers will operate in addition to the Premium Centres at the NIA and CalBank Head Offices in Accra, including Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional offices.
The statement further said the premium registration centers will offer fee-based registration services namely first-time registration and issuance of a Ghana Card (GH¢280), replacement of lost, missing, or damaged cards (GH¢110), update of personal records that require the printing of new card, (GH¢110).
Well, it seems some people are charging more exorbitant prices for those who want it faster.
