Angus Cloud was an American actor popularly known for appearing in the tv series Euphoria as Fezco, a sweet-natured drug dealer.

He was born Conor Angus Cloud Hickey in Oakland, California, on July 10, 1998. He died on Monday, July 31st 2023 at only 25 years ofage.

Whilst being born stateside, most of the Hickey family resides in Ireland.

Angus Cloud was the eldest of his siblings; he had younger twin sisters, named Molly Hickey and Fiona Hickey.

He attended the School of Production Design at Oakland School for the Arts, where he was a classmate of his Euphoria co-star Zendaya.

Cloud revealed in an interview with Variety in August 2022 that he suffered “minor brain damage” from a serious fall when he was a teenager. The injury resulted in a scar on the right side of his head.

Angus Cloud became popular for his seminal role as Fezco, a drug dealer and friend of the main character Rue, played by Zendaya, in HBO’s hit teen drama series Euphoria.

Cloud had no acting experience before he was discovered by chance by a casting agent who saw him walking on the street in New York.

He auditioned for the role of Fezco and impressed the show’s creator Sam Levinson with his natural talent and charisma. He quickly became a fan favorite for his portrayal of the lovable and loyal character who often helped Rue and other troubled teens.

Angus Cloud also appeared in a short film called Your Lucky Day in 2020 and was set to star in an untitled monster thriller project for Universal Pictures in 2024.

Sadly, Angus Cloud buried his father a week before his death and apparently struggled with the loss.

Angus Cloud’s cause of death has not been officially revealed but some reports say he battled mental health issues privately.

First responders found Cloud dead after being called to a medical emergency in Oakland.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” the Hickey family released a statement following his death.

“As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” they wrote.

Angus Cloud lost his father a week before his death which might have played a role in his mental health struggles.

Euphoria

Angus Cloud found fame as a cast member on Euphoria.

Euphoria is an American teen drama television series created and principally written by Sam Levinson for HBO. The series’ main character is Rue Bennett (Zendaya), a troubled teenage drug addict who struggles to get sober and find her place in the world. Though Rue is the central focus, the series provides backstories for the rest of the main cast at the beginning of most episodes.

Euphoria follows teenagers in the fictional town of East Highland, California, who seek hope while balancing the strains of love, loss, and addiction. Topics such as child abuse, drug abuse, toxic relationships, toxic positivity, hookup culture, mental illness, codependency, infidelity, relapsing, repressed homosexuality, sobriety, human trafficking, domestic violence, rape, toxic masculinity, drug dealing, dating violence, and grief are explored.

The series has been praised for its raw and unflinching portrayal of teenage life, as well as its performances, particularly Zendaya’s. However, it has also been criticized for its graphic violence and sexual content.

Euphoria has been a critical and commercial success, winning multiple awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. The series has been renewed for a third season.

In July 2023, tragedy struck the Euphoria family when Angus Cloud suddenly died at the tender age of 25.
