A Snapchat blogger known as Senator Eze was arrested Wednesday by officers of the Ghana Police service over alleged defamation.
Eze’s arrest was effected by popular businessman known as Smashwan.
The blogger is alleged to have gone on a tirade on the platform and spewed ‘lies’ about the businessman which he wasn’t pleased with.

He reported the case to the police who arrested Senator Eze and sent him to the CID headquarters in Accra.
Blogger Sel the Bomb was first to report the news, writing: “Snapchat blogger Senator Eze has been picked up and handcuffed to a police station after the officers arrested him.
“According to exclusive information available to Sel The Bomb, the Snapchat gossip monger was arrested this noon and sent to the CID headquarters. The arrest is said to have been caused by Smashwan. This comes after Eze went on his usual tirades to defame the businessman with false news about his private life. More soon #SelTheBomb”
