Indonesian Bodybuilder Justyn Vicky Dies After 450 Ib Barbell Fell On His Neck Whilst Squat Pressing

An Indonesian bodybuilder known as Justyn Vicky shockingly died after he broke his neck whilst attempting to press a 450 Ib barbell.

The shocking incident occurred at the Paradise Bali gym in Sanur, Indonesia.

According to reports, Vicky was squat pressing the 450 Ib barbell on his neck with a spotter behind him.

However, things went horribly wrong when they lost grip on the heavy barbell and it rolled over his neck.

The barbell reportedly caused a broken neck and critical compression of vital nerves connecting to his heart and lungs, according to the Daily Mail.

Justyn Vicky was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, could not survive.

The Paradise Gym Bali were the accident occurred paid tribute to Justyn after his passing.

“Today, we gather to celebrate the incredible life of our beloved personal trainer and friend, Justyn. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of his passing, and yet, our spirits are lifted by the profound impact he had on each and every one of us.

“Justyn was more than just a fitness expert; he was a beacon of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support. His infectious energy and genuine passion for helping others transform their lives touched us deeply. Through countless workouts, words of encouragement, and compassionate guidance, he became an irreplaceable part of our fitness journeys and our gym family,” the gym said.

Justyn Vicky died at just 33-years of age – but his impact, evidently, would be felt long after his passing.

Who Was Justyn Vicky?

33-year-old Justyn Vicky Justyn was a fitness instructor, influencer, bodybuilder as well as a nutritional adviser from East Java, Indonesia.

Vicky was training at The Paradise Bali gym in Sanur, Indonesia, when a barbell weighing more than 450 lbs. fell on his neck, causing a fatal injury.

 doing squat presses — holding the barbell behind his neck and squatting  — when the bar reportedly fell forward onto his neck. 

The barbell caused “a broken neck and critical compression of vital nerves connecting to his heart and lungs,” according to reports.

Colleagues eulogised him in posts on social media.

Gede Sutarya wrote: “Vicky was a good person, polite, and sociable. He always shared knowledge about the gym. He also advised friends at the gym to be cautious and not exceed their capabilities during training. Only we ourselves can measure our own abilities. May Mas Vicky rest peacefully in the embrace of God and find a worthy place,”

Another friend commented: “He was always full of positive vibes and make me to stay motivated. ‘I’ll never forget his impact on my fitness journey. It’s a tough loss, but we’ll keep his spirit alive,”
