Court Charges Deborah Seyram To Pay 6000 Cedis To First Atlantic Bank – Strikes Out Bank’s Name from Lawsuit

Published by

Deborah Seyram Adablah, a former employee of First Atlantic Bank National who accused the bank’s former Chief Financial Officer of sexual harassment, has been ordered to pay costs of GH6,000 to the bank.

First National Bank’s attorneys had already filed a move to have the bank dismissed from the litigation. Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu approved the bank’s motion in a decision revealed on Friday, July 21, and also awarded GH6,000 costs against Adablah.

Seyram Adablah’s attorney argued with the court to decrease the amount of damages from GH50,000 requested by First Atlantic Bank’s attorneys to GH5,000.

Due to a number of interim motions, the court has yet to hear the substantive matter of sexual harassment.

Seyram Adablah’s attorneys have submitted an interim application requesting the court to vacate a previous decision requiring her to turn over the Honda Civic to the court registry.

In her lawsuit, Deborah Seyram Adablah claims that Ernest Kwasi Nimako, whom she refers to as her “sugar daddy,” made several promises to her. The lawsuit was filed on Monday, January 23, 2023.

The plaintiff claims that Nimako promised to buy her the automobile, pay for her housing for three years, give her a GH3,000 monthly stipend, marry her after divorcing his wife, and give her a lump sum to launch a business.

Although the car was initially registered in Nimako’s name, the plaintiff alleges that he later seized it back, denying her access to it after only a year. She further claims that despite pledging to pay for three years of housing, Nimako only paid for one.
