Tembu Ebere, a Nigerian, claimed that while trying to cry continuously for seven days to break the Guinness World Records, he suffered from partial blindness.
In a BBC interview, Ebere revealed that he had health problems. He claimed that he forced himself to cry continuously for seven days for the sake of the record, but along the way, he temporarily lost his vision.
Ebere, who has been trying to cry nonstop for seven days, claimed that during his attempts, he suffered from migraines, puffy eyes, a swollen face, and lost some vision for 45 minutes.
He said, “I had to re-strategize and reduce my wailing,” adding that he was determined to cry for one week as he planned despite the difficulties he encountered.
Meanwhile, Guinness World Records (GWR) finally confirmed Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey better known as Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”
The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began cooking on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.
Baci attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
