King of Kings – Otumfour and Wife To Leave Ghana for King Charles Coronation

The Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, and his wife have been invited to attend the coronation of the new British monarch, Charles III.

The Ashanti monarch received an official invitation which he plans to honour.

The upcoming trip was revealed in communication released by Manhyia Palace.

“His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has been invited to attend the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty the Queen Consort in London on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He will be accompanied by Lady Julia,” the statement read.

It continued: “Otumfuo Asantehene and Lady Julia will join monarchs and global leaders from across the globe who will assemble at Westminster Abbey for what is expected to be a feast of pageantry marking the first coronation in 70 years.”

Charles III takes over the British throne after the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, in 2022.

Elizabeth ruled for 70 years and was the longest-reigning British monarch in history.
